The Broken River BBQ Bake-Off 2013

Our local BBQ chiefs will battle it out to see who can produce the finest culinary BBQ delight for 2013. If you have a flair for food or would just like to give it a go then join us at Palmer Lodge around 2pm on Saturday 28th September.

You have 15 minutes to create something sumptuous on the BBQ. Your dish needs to be cooked on the BBQ (rather than heating up something you've conjured up at home), but you can bring prepared sauces or wraps (etc.) to go with your main BBQ dish. Your final culinary delight should be large enough to share a bite or two with our two judges.

We've had some great dishes cooked up in past events and look forward to seeing what is created this year. Check out our article about the 2011 event.

New for 2013 - Homebrew section

BBQs and brews seem to go hand in hand, so this year we've added a homebrew section. This might be your finest beer or maybe elderberry wine. Bring along a bottle, for our judges to taste.
